Description

Peach dump cake with canned peaches, yellow cake mix, and butter. From Alissa at Yummy Dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (15 oz / 425g) cans sliced peaches in juice, undrained
  • 1 (15.25 oz / 432g) box yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour the peaches with their juice into the dish. Stir in the vanilla and cinnamon if using. Spread into an even layer.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit. Do not stir.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much of the dry mix as you can. Patch any dry islands with a spoon of butter.
  5. Bake 40 to 48 minutes until the top is golden and the edges bubble. Cool 15 minutes. Scoop, do not slice like layer cake.

Notes

Juice in the cans is the liquid the mix needs. Drained peaches make dry pockets. Serve with ice cream. Leftovers keep 3 days in the fridge.
