Hi, I’m Alissa — the baker behind Yummy Dishes. I live in Austin, Texas, and this little kitchen corner is where I share the Southern-inspired desserts I actually make at home: cheesecakes, butter pecan cakes, caramel layers, pies, brownies, and the kind of poke cakes that disappear before they cool.

Yummy Dishes started as a place to keep family recipes organized and to write down the small adjustments that turn a good bake into a great one — browning the butter a little longer, chilling a crust overnight, or swapping a frosting when the humidity climbs. Over time it grew into a recipe blog focused on homemade American and Southern desserts that feel celebratory without needing professional pastry gear.
