Description

Hot Milk Cake. From Alissa.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (125g) flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup (200g) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat eggs and sugar until thick and pale. Stir in vanilla.
  3. Heat milk and butter until the butter melts. Fold the flour into the eggs, then stir in the hot milk. Bake 28 to 32 minutes.

Notes

The milk should be hot, not boiling over. Boiling milk scrambles the eggs if you dump it in.
