No-Bake Oreo Pie

Sliced no-bake Oreo pie with cookie crust and cookies-and-cream filling on a dessert plate

This no bake Oreo pie is the fridge pie: a cookie crust and a cream-cheese filling folded with crushed cookies. It is not the no-bake banana split pie and it is not a baked New York cheesecake. If you want a cookies-and-cream slice without turning on the oven, this is the page.

Description

No-bake Oreo pie with cookie crust and cream-cheese filling. From Alissa at Yummy Dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 24 Oreo cookies (about 270g), filling included
  • 5 tablespoons (70g) unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 8 oz (227g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 oz / 226g) tub whipped topping, thawed, divided
  • 12 Oreo cookies, coarsely crushed

Instructions

  1. Crush 24 cookies to fine crumbs. Stir in the melted butter. Press into a 9-inch pie plate, including the sides. Freeze 15 minutes.
  2. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in 2 cups of the whipped topping, then the crushed cookies. Do not beat the topping or it goes slack.
  3. Spread the filling in the crust. Top with the remaining whipped topping. Garnish with extra cookie crumbs if you want.
  4. Refrigerate at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, until slices hold. Keep cold.

Notes

A store-bought Oreo crust works in a rush. Homemade crumbs taste fresher. The pie keeps 3 days covered in the fridge. It does not freeze well — the topping weeps.

No-bake pie, not cheesecake

This is a pie plate dessert with whipped topping. It is not the tall baked New York cheesecake and not banana split pie. Keep the intents separate.

Substitutions

You can whip 1 cup heavy cream with 2 tablespoons sugar instead of part of the tub topping. Golden Oreos change the flavor — say so if you swap. A chocolate cookie crust without filling is drier; add a teaspoon more butter if needed.

Mistakes to avoid

Do not use hot filling cookies still in big chunks only — you want some crumbs for the crust and some chunks in the filling. Do not skip the chill. Do not leave it on a warm counter.

Storage

Refrigerate covered up to 3 days. Do not freeze.

Nutrition (estimated)

About 420 calories per slice if cut into 8. Estimate only, not a lab test.

FAQ

Do I remove the Oreo filling for the crust?

No. The filling helps the crumbs stick. Crush the whole cookie.

Can I make it a day ahead?

Yes. Overnight is better than a 2-hour chill.

Is this a cheesecake?

It uses cream cheese, but it is a no-bake pie, not a baked New York cheesecake.

Can I use homemade whipped cream?

Yes. Whip 1 cup cream with 2 tablespoons sugar to stiff peaks and fold it in.
